Today Sensex ended at 18,307.52, down 290.66 points or 1.56 per cent. It touched a high of 18,587.38 and a low of 18,139.15 in trade, Nifty ended at 5,414.75, down 93.10 points or 1.69 per cent. It touched a high of 5,499.65 and a low of 5,360.65 in trade today.

In International market Asian markets finished mixed as of the most recent closing prices. The Shanghai Composite gained 0.83% and the Nikkei 225 rose 0.79%. The Hang Seng lost 0.34%.European markets are lower today with shares in France off the most. The CAC 40 is down 0.71% while Germany's DAX is off 0.27% and London's FTSE 100 is lower by 0.08%.

At 12:30 BSE Sensex is down 253.92 points or 1.32 percent at 18928.34, and the NSE Nifty is down 90.05 points or 1.58 percent at 5595.35. About 522 shares advanced while 1399 shares declined on the BSE. Nifty falling below the 5600 level, weighed down by financials, capital goods, oil & gas and metals stocks after sharp fall in rupee.


Today in market Realty Index was down 3.2 per cent, the S&P BSE Metal Index plunged 2.5 per cent, the S&P BSE Consumer Durable Index slipped 2.4 per cent and the S&P BSE Banking Index was trading 2.3 per cent lower.

In International market Asian markets are higher today as Chinese and Hong Kong shares show gains. The Shanghai Composite is up 0.75% while the Hang Seng is up 1.04%. The Nikkei 225 is not trading.
